Everyone has their causes that they choose to support. For myself and many of my friends, one of the causes that is close to our hearts is breast cancer, particularly those who are in stage IV of the disease.
As part of breast cancer awareness month, I am a sponsor of the 2nd Annual Gal to Gal Foundation Virtual Walk. This innovative online walk has already raised more than $30,000 and with a goal of $250,000 by month's end will help provide vital resources for those patients who are fighting this incurable disease.
The Gal to Gal Foundation, is run by a true virtual company called Design Her Gals. They have adorable characters that you can design for stationary, invitations, notepads and all sorts of other great items. I am a huge fan of Design Her Gals because I have ordered their invitations for my daughters' birthday parties and they were a huge hit! However, I have to admit that one main reason that I am driven to support this company is because of the wonderful cause that they serve.
As board member and president of the Gal to Gal Foundation, Dorit Shapiro is a mother of two who is living with stage IV breast cancer. Dorit describes her story in a touching video that has been created about the walk and what it means to the patients that it serves.
