We Are What We (Should) Eat PDF Print E-mail

Eating healthy is not always easy especially when you are on the go, but when you read the following information, you will see why eating fruits and vegetables should make up the majority of your diet.

Speaking from experience (see my articles on the Nutritional Cleanse I did in November) it takes about 1 week to clear your system of the sugar and junk that builds up over time.  After about three days without processed foods, I slept better, had a ton more energy and was overall happier.  I am not a depressed person by any stretch of the imagination, but I was seriously happier and felt really great.

Although I am not eating a raw diet anymore, I am eating a lot more fruit and veggies and if being healthy and happy is important to you and your family, maybe you should try it too!

Listen to this...  I cannot credit who wrote this information because I received it in an email that had been passed around with no by line, but it is VERY interesting!  Whoever wrote it is brilliant!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye.
The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and science shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red.
The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Eggplant, Avocadoes and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? .... It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic
chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.

A few other thoughts for your diet conscious minds...
What does a hamburger look like?
Does cake look like anything in our body?
How about fried chicken?

It isn't very pretty to think about what these things look like in relation to our bodies because in reality, they don't look like any part of our bodies (except as awful as it is to say, maybe our excrement).

When you eat foods that are whole and not processed or that are as close to their natural state as possible, you are eating foods that bring natural nutrients to your body, not dis-ease.

It is unrealistic to say that everyone should eat fruits and vegetables all the time and no meat, dairy or wheat (or sweets or fried foods) ever, but the MAJORITY of the foods you put into your body should be natural and unprocessed if you want to have a healthy mind, body and spirit.  If you are concerned about cancer or heart disease, be careful and conscious about what you put into your body.  It is as simple as that.

Read about what pesticides and processed foods do to your system.  Educate yourself so that you will think about what you put into your body before it hits your lips.  Many experts say that 75% of our diet should consist of fruits and vegetables.

What percentage of your diet does this make up?  Can you eat an extra apple a day?  Can you start your day with a fruit salad and end it with a salad?  Can you snack on carrots instead of chips?  Starting with these simple ideas could mean the difference between health and disease.

Do you want your children to be healthy?  Kids follow by example, so if you start with changing your own habits, your kids will be more likely to eat healthy themselves.  There are some whole believe so strongly in vegan diets that they say all mental illness is caused by the hormones and pesticides in meat, dairy and animal products.

There is no way of knowing how your body could be reacting to these elements if you don't do a little research of your own.  So, if you are feeling a bit curious and want to try an experiment, take a week to write dwon everything you usually put into your system and then take another week to eat only fruits and vegetables (and maybe some unsalted nuts for protein) and see how you feel.  Let us know what happens!  It could be the beginning of a whole new you!
