So, here we are on Day 2! I made it and I haven't cheated yet! Can't tell you how many times I have looked at the chocolate though. And making the kids food is a sad form of torture. Anyway, let's get to the goods...
Last night for dinner, we had a miso soup with lots of sprouts and carrots and zucchini. I am kind of sick of carrots at this point. There were plates of sprouted crackers on the table that 12 of us were fighting for. It was pretty comical. We all giggled at how ravenously hungry we were. The thought keeps passing through my mind that I am inflicting this on myself, but at the same time, it is healthy and good. So, my mind is conflicted as it remembers the beauty of chocolate.
Anyway, after dinner, we all sat around Terese's living room and learned the importance of organization from organization expert Nancy Castelli of Balance SF . And wow, is clearing the clutter ever important! Going through a detox program is like organizing your body and getting rid of all of the junk. So, we talked about the power of organizing your home and space while going through this process.
When I got home, I immediately through my closet doors open, dashed anything that wasn't serving a purpose in a donation bag and then moved into the kitchen to get rid or the junk that has been driving me crazy! I was a woman on a mission and my husband thought I was nuts. But, boy did that feel good. Talk about cleansing! I highly recommend going through any area that has clutter as often as you can. I still have other areas of the house to attack, but just clearing the small areas made me feel so much more organized and ready to work!!
After the cleaning frenzy and taking the bags out the recycling, I got ready for bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow, our 2 year old began to whine. She does this every night for a little while and then goes back to sleep, usually. Not last night. No no, she kept us up intermittently for the entire night. Then, at about 3am, our 6 year old had a nightmare and needed some TLC. By the time the alarm rang for me to go work out, I had had about 1 hour of sleep. There was no way...
But, at 9:30am, when the babysitter arrived, I chugged my fiber shake, threw on my gym clothes and ran down to meet the last group of Rock Solid gals at Crissy Field. I actually ran today! I haven't run in years! It felt good. After the workout, I returned home to eat my breakfast of red grapes. Yippee. They were actually very filling. And lunch was quinoa with cherry tomatoes and basil on top of a romaine leaf and garnished with olives. Lunch was good. I would eat that again.
So, here I am. Ready for my dinner and it is 2pm. The worst part is that I have to go to the grocery store to get food for the fam right now! Ugh! Will power, please be with me! I'll let you know how it went tomorrow. But have a great day and remember to organize your closets and clutter every week, or as often as you can! The more you stay on top of it, the more room you will have in your life to fill with the things that will bring you happiness and success! Get rid of the things in your home and space that do not serve a purpose in helping you to be happy and healthy!
